Last chance! RCB 30-Year Pin

Dec 14, 2011 - RCB has been distributing 30-Year Anniversary Pins to members attending RCB events since early October. The 1" diameter pins commemorate the proud thirty year history of the River City Beemers and honor the logo that represented our club for the same thirty years.

The original intent was to offer the pins in person to save mailing costs, but there are a couple dozen pins left over are now being sold online.

Christmas Party / Passing of the Baton

Dec 3, 2011 - Always the frugal bunch, RCB membership figured out an inexpensive way to both celebrate the transition from Jewell administration to Olson administration *and* celebrate the holidays ... We combined them! Once again, our gracious hosts at A&S opened their showroom and over 100 of us took advantage to enjoy and remember another year of riding, friends and the holiday season.

RCB brightens children's lives

Dec 3, 2011 - This morning over 50 RCB members, laden with children's toys, swapped their monthly ride for a chance to bring a little sunshine to the residents of the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento. CRH houses children removed from unsafe housing situations and today had about 60 residents.

Dec 2011 Newsletter posted

Nov 29, 2011 - The December 2011 River City Beemer newsletter is posted. The newsletter can be found at http://rcb.org/newsletters or by clicking on the Newsletters button to the left.

This is the last newsletter published during President Fred Jewell's reign (?) and we look forward to incoming President Gordy Olson. The newsletter also features updates on the Toy Ride and Christmas Party, as well as updates on the RCB logo and election results. Finally, with the riding season slowing down just a bit, Phil Challinor takes us through Part 1 of a RawHyde off-road riding course,

Deer 1 - RT 0

Nov 29, 2011 - RCB member and fellow Iron Butt-er Bob Brown had an encounter of the painful kind with a Placer County deer last week that led to the substantial damage of his beloved RT and significant portions of his body.

He's recovering fine right now and is telling his story in our forum. Click here to read his story.

Toy Run Update

Nov 26, 2011 - The Children's Receiving Home wants us to appear at 11:00 AM, which will work out well for us to prepare for cooking lunch for everybody. This means we really don't have to leave A&S until 10:30 or so since it is only a few miles away. Ken will have a route that is as circuitous as possible to get there, and once there we need to park in the upper parking lot. If you have a toy that is too big for you to carry on the bike, or you can't make the ride you can bring it to A&S any time and drop it off in their donation box.

Black Friday Ride, anyone?

Nov 15, 2011 - Let's let every one else pack the malls searching for their doorbuster bargains, we should continue our tradition of going riding instead. Last year we went to the Waterloo Inn, and I see no reason to change that this year. Ken is working up a route as we speak, so stay tuned for details coming soon. And don't forget to stop in Lockeford afterwards to pick up some sausages for the weekend! Better than leftovers any day.
