Morro Bay - Canceled (update)

Apr 10, 2012 - Regrettably, the weather forecast continues to deteriorate for all coastal and inland routes to Morro Bay. While we were willing to persevere through an hour or so of rain, it's unlikely anyone wants to duel the weather for six hours all the way to Morro Bay.

Those of you with room reservations will need to contact Dennis at the Morro Crest Motel at 805/772-7740 to cancel your room reservations. You will be charged one night for the deposit.

"Teach" McNeil in a warehouse

Mar 6, 2012 - Last October, BMW Motorrad sponsored a tour of the Stockton RDC (Regional Distribution Center) that featured a riding (?) demonstration by Chris "Teach" McNeil on his R1200GS and S1000RR. March Club Meeting

Mar 4, 2012 - Another well-attended meeting although I thought I saw one open seat in the primary dining room ... Is President Gordy losing his touch?

There was universal praise for an incredibly successful Tech Day and a special thanks to the A&S technicians who contributed their skills that day. We welcomed a couple new members and reviewed some club activity. Membership director Ray Nuguit announced the club membership is holding at 210, and Gordy reiterated the club's goal of 250. With the riding season upon us, we need all members to be out recruiting fellow BMW riders.

March Club Ride

Feb 25, 2011 - For March's club ride*, we'll be visiting an oldie, but a goodie, the Mother Lode Coffee Shop in Jamestown, CA. Our route meanders through the Amador foothills, includes a stop in Ione, and is scheduled to get us to Jamestown in time for a late lunch (after their lunch rush.). With Ken out of town, Fred Jewell will be leading the group at a more relaxed pace. Those of you wanting to carve up some curves are free to go ahead at your own pace.

Feb 20, 2012 - If you're planning to join RCB in Morro Bay in April, there's good news and bad news regarding the hotel situation. First the bad news, the Morro Crest Inn is completely sold out. The good news is there's a nearby house renting for $50/person/night.

Rand Olson posted all the details in our member forum.

Tech Day a huge success!

Feb 19, 2012 - A hearty band of about 40 RCB’ers assembled in the repair shop at A&S early on Sunday morning either to work on their own bikes or to watch others work on theirs.  At the height of the action, nine lifts were in use and the tools and advice were really flying!   By the time we quit in the afternoon, there were a number of jobs completed ranging from oil changes and tire mountings for the less adventurous up to throttle body adjustments, brake control and power circuit replacements, clutch bleeds, heated grip multi-switch replacements,
