November 2015 President's Corner

by Gordy Olson, RCBPREZ

This year is rapidly coming to a close. It really must be true that time flies when you are having fun! We had a number of terrific events in 2015 and on November 22 we will gather at the Round Table Pizza on Greenback Lane to outline the calendar for 2016. All members are welcome to attend the planning meeting and to present their ideas and suggestions for events and outings for next year. Particularly welcome are those members willing to be responsible for actually organizing events (rather than just suggesting them!).

We desperately need someone to step up and volunteer to succeed Bob Lawrence as RCB Newsletter Editor. Bob has done a superb job this year but does not want to continue his “distance learning” style of editing. Perhaps we can convince him to resume his editorial duties when he finally returns to the Left Coast. The Board of Directors discussed the possibility of suspending the Newsletter and simply using the RCB website and Forum as our primary sources of information sharing. The Board does not believe that is the most desirable option, but it will be the inevitable one if no one volunteers to keep the Newsletter going. Please consider becoming the editor. Who knows – it might lead to a whole new career in journalism for you…….

The annual Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Winter Carnival Party is scheduled for December 5 at A&S. Check the Forum for details as the date nears. Given the ever-increasing popularity of elves, I recommend those of who without personal elf apparel get to your local costume store quickly while elfin garb is still available. Do you really want to be the ONLY person at the party not dressed appropriately? Think how embarrassing that Facebook posting will be with you in a truly hideous Christmas sweater completely surrounded by attractive and festive elves and elevettes.

Remember – always ride safely.
