Nov 2012 Member Meeting

Nov 4, 2012 - This is starting to get repetitive ... Great turnout, overflowing room at Susie's, terrific service, raucous raffle, plenty of laughter and a great post-meeting ride. But this one was a little different.

For starters, it was time for our annual election to fill director positions. As per the by-laws, officers (president, vice president, secretary and treasurer) run annually, and the 10-member board of directors stand for two year terms.

Our president, Gordy, ran unopposed. Jack Klauschie and David Alexander ran for Vice President and Treasurer unopposed, and without a secretary candidate yet, that position was open to write-in candidates. Not unexpectedly, Mickey Mouse garnered a handful, outgoing Secretary of State Hilary Clinton captured a few (she has free time right now, right?), but as the tallying was taking place, the overwhelming lead belonged to Gary Stofer! CNN hasn't called this election yet. We're standing by.

On a slightly different, and advisory, note, the laundry store in the same parking lot does not appreciate motorcycles in their designated parking spots and called Roseville Tow to make their point. Our recommendation is to park elsewhere on Saturdays.

With the meeting wrapped up, 30+ riders departed for Priest Grade. Early reports suggest another highly satisfactory outing.

Just a reminder, next month's meeting is Dec. 1. See you there!
